fab find: riviera palm springs
Being that Palm Springs is one of my favorite destinations, it was a no-brainer to pick the Riviera Palm Springs for this weeks fab find...
after a two year, 70 million dollar renovation, I can't wait to book a stay at this amazingly gorgeous resort.
The Riviera was once a hot Hollywood hangout in the 60's with Frank Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack being regulars. From the looks of the mod glam interior, the old Hollywood influence has definitely been injected in the new digs.

food for thought: super tasty salmon cakes
I'm on the run again today, so just a quick share of a super tasty dish I made last Saturday...
and believe me, they are tasty and oh so easy! The recipe is from Self Magazine, so the cakes are low in fat and calories, not to mention good for you too. The Cakes are served with greens, so the buttermilk included in the sauce is for the dressing. I had a different salad with mine, so I omitted the buttermilk and made more of a tartar sauce, sooooo good!
Enjoy!

style board: neutral beachy mod dining room
We are having a gloomy day here in Colorado, waiting for some rain. But instead of a rainy Rocky Mountain themed Style Board, I decided to take it to the beach...
where everything is better, even in the rain.
I wanted to use one of the chairs I featured on Monday, and I happened to choose the "Reed" Chair, you can find reeds on the beach right? The room is neutral, very relaxed with lots of texture and modern, clean lines. I can hear the waves lapping now...good thing I have a sound machine!

tuesday's treasure: multi-style home, decor spring/summer 2008
The home of designer Jane Ellison is a perfect tutorial on how to marry multiple styles...
sleek, mod side table, glam suede daybed, elegant silk drapes and gilded frames. Throw in a sisal rug and place a beautiful piece of art on the floor; the space also has a casual feel.

fab find: cool, multi-stylish dining chairs, under $149
One thing I have noticed in my shopping for client dining chairs, is that they have a tendency to lean toward the pricey side and they are one of the smallest pieces of furniture in the home, hmmm...
so when I received an e-mail from CB2 for this snazzy Venezia Mustard Yellow Chair, selling for the fabulous price of $99.95, I had to investigate further. All the chairs I featured here are under $149, one is even $69.95!
Reed Chair $149.00
Rex Grey Arm Chair $69.95
Orbit Arm Chair $119.00
Phoenix Orange Chair $129.00

While the Bohemian in me embraces a mix of styles, when it comes to dining chairs, I like em contempo/mod. Whether placed along side a rustic farmhouse plank table or a Saarinen inspired pedestal table, these affordable chairs would be a stylish addition to any decor.

friday musings: 50 tried n true beauty products
I am turning to the latest issue Matchbook Magazine to provide my musings for this glorious April Fools Friday. It's 75 fabulous degrees here in Denver, opening day of the Rockies and the end of a busy week for me, thus the reason for my absence yesterday. So, without further adieu...
a few of my tried and true beauty staples made the 50: Smith's Rosebud Salve (cannot live without), Benefit High Beam (a fantastic highlighter that I mix with moisturizer for a lovely glow), Cetaphil Cream Cleanser (an oh so gentle cleanser).
A few products that did not make their list, but are faves of mine include: e.l.f. All Over Color Stick (love this stuff! Persimmon is my go to for a hint of blush), Loreal Clean Definition Telescopic Mascara (just as it says, long clump free lashes), Dickinson's Witch Hazel ( a refreshing and natural toner), Derma E Pycnogenol Eye Gel and Vitamin A Wrinkle Treatment Moisturizing Gel (super refreshing, oil free products), Banana Boat Ultra Defense Faces SPF 30 mixed with Kiehl's Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer (for protection and a touch of color).
What are some of your favorites that you cannot live without?
Have a great weekend!
