greetings from the garden: flowers, flowers and more flowers
These happy flowers are just what I need to see after a 30° drop in temperature and nonstop rain and now frozen rain...

Nasturtium, Tropaeolum Majus Double Gleam (orange)
I am soooo excited to have been able to plant a flower garden for cutting purposes, thank you Buster! While most of the seeds made it in the ground last evening, I had to soak the ranunculus bulbs and morning glory seeds over night.
Ranunculus
California Poppy
Victorian Mix Dahlia
Teddy Bear Sunflower
Mexican Sunflower
Cosmos
Zinnia, Envy
Peony, Felix Crousse
Morning Glory, Scarlet O'HaraAlthough I wasn't quite outfitted for planting in the rain, I made my way out to the yard with my faithful sidekick, "Dog Faced Boy", my horse rescue wellies (thank goodness I hadn't taken them out of the car!) and proceeded to dig in the mud. All the while, frozen snow sneaking in past my waistband. But I will have flowers dammit, and they will be lovely!

tuesday's treasure: art deco-international-mod, scott laslie, decor f/w 2009
Today's home
, upon first impression, is traditional, until you really absorb the balance of traditional, art deco-mod and lots of international texture and flair...

this show house was dubbed "soft modern" by Decor, a term that I find absolutely marvelous! The clean modern lines and neutral palette are the perfect backdrop for the subtle international influences. Aren't the screens fantastic?
The use of robins egg blue throughout the house is like the glue holding it all together.
Laslie described the vision for the dining room as "Carrie Bradshaw meets Marie Antoinette", my favorite room in the house.
The artisinal tiles used for the back splash in the kitchen, create a stunning Art Deco design.

fab find: elsa peretti for tiffany & co., perfect swimsuit pendants
After a glorious weekend here in Colorado, lots of sunshine and temps in the high 80's, it is safe to start thinking about donning a bikini...
and as much as I love jewelry with big baubles and beads, when it comes to accessorizing a swimsuit, less is definitely best. How amazing does this Elsa Peretti pendant (shown below, $295) look with the suit above? Love it as well as these other Peretti pendants from Tiffany & Co., all under $500.

friday musings: mcqueen
After a busy week styling for clients, I can't think of a better way to decompress than absorbing the masterpieces of McQueen...

Savage Beauty just opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and runs until July 31, 2011. I'm feeling a New York minute coming on.
Have a great weekend!
