fab find: wisteria architectural stainless steel stool

After a nice start to the weekend, thanks to a great week in general, it ended on an even more amazingly fabulous note ;D ... so, much to my delight, today's fab find came rather easily. It is time for the Wisteria August Furniture Sale. Many, many goodies abound, but this stylish Architectural Stainless Steel Stool caught my eye. This stool with it's modern shape and reflective surface, provides a mod-glam alternative to the beloved Chinese garden stool.

This stool will certainly play a supporting role in the upcoming Style Boards based on the Pantone Fashion Color Report Fall 2011.

weekend musings...

I had such an awesome time on Wednesday water skiing, however, my body is still recuperating... so I am playing Domestic Diva today so I can tackle a Maxwell Falls hike tomorrow =)

Cornfetti Salad

1can black beans, drained and rinsed

1 ear of corn, kernels sliced off

1 jalapeno, finely chopped

1/8 C red onion, finely chopped

1/4 C cilantro, chopped

1 Avocado, chopped

Juice of 1/2 a lime

1 T olive oil

1/8 tsp chipotle powder

1/8 tsp fiesta chili powder

S & P

Combine all the above ingredients and serve over rice.

Grilled Shrimp

Shrimp

Lime juice

Olive oil

Clove of garlic, minced

Chipotle powder

Fiesta chili powder

S & P

The measurements of the ingredients will depend on the amount of shrimp to be served, use your best judgement, especially with the lime juice since it will "cook" the shrimp. Marinade the shrimp for about an hour before grilling. Shrimp can be grilled on skewers or in a grill basket. Serve shrimp over rice and Cornfetti Salad, squeeze additional lime before serving.

No Style Board today, I'm playing hooky...shhhh, don't tell the boss ;) I'm spending the afternoon on the lake with an old friend, well she's not old and neither am I, but we have known each other for 35 years. fab find: hollywood at home

I came across a site today with some seriously stylish goodies, Hollywood at Home... from vintage finds, like this pair of Mid-Century slipper chairs upholstered in Gattapardo, a Peter Dunham Textile to newer pieces like this Emilio Center Table.

A vast selection of stylish treasures including textiles and accessories. The lamp above is another vintage piece, an Industrial Metal and Bakelite Table Lamp as well as the Korean Tansu shown below.

style board: modern glam, black & white great room

I am very pleased with the style mix of this great room, a little modern with a touch of glam and most definitely comfortable... while I'm digging the charcoal color of the sectional, it would be equally fabulous in a buttery soft black leather. Most rooms in the "black and white house" have a pop of color; turquoise in the dining room, coral in the bedroom and now a delicious maize color in the great room.
For me this is an ideal sectional; clean modern lines, low and comfortable. The seating is deep and the chaise corner is wide enough for two peeps to cuddle for movie night. The nesting tables are easy to move around when needed and how cute is the chair?!
