interiors: mid-century manhattan, elle decor october 2008

As I brace myself for the snow that is soon to fall upon us in Colorado, my mind flits about dreaming of where I wish I could be when the snow starts flying. While something close to the Southern Hemisphere is appealing, but being a girl who loves to occasionally don sassy boots and fabulous winter coats, I long for an escape, high in the sky. Somewhere like the Manhattan home of handbag entrepreneur Santiago Barberi Gonzalez. It is 100% cool glam, while at the same time comfortably homey.

found: autumnal sunshine

I've been inside on the computer for most of the day researching "green" products for a client, I did however take a short recess to venture outdoors and enjoy another gorgeous Colorado Fall day. After romping around in flip-flops, it is currently 81°, I am reluctantly getting my snow boots out of storage...the predicted high for Wednesday is 32° and snow, bleh!

my favorite...blingy vintage bracelet

I realize the trend right now is to wear multiple bracelets stacked several inches high, on one or even both arms, but sometimes a girl has to go simple and classic, with just a bit of ta-dah. This is where my vintage stretchy rhinestone bracelet comes in. Usually worn with a t-shirt, it just adds the right amount of feminine glam. I believe it is white gold since it has yellowed slightly over the years, but I actually like the warm glow it has now. I paired it recently with rolled up jeans, my fabulous charcoal "sweatshirt" over a white button down, and sassy leopard heels. An outfit that will definitely make repeat performances.

style board: pantone color report fall 2011, bamboo bedroom

The color Bamboo from Pantone Color Report Fall 2011 is both traditional and contemporary. It is a gold with a hint of green, so luscious and warm. I chose warm neutrals in grey, ivory and brown and threw in some white lacquer for an unexpected edge. A little industrial + a little modern + a little glam = 100% stylish...I love, love, love this color!

interiors: comfy coastal, coastal living october 2011

<>
Reclaimed wood floors and beams along with stucco and plaster walls, transform a new structure into a charming, lovely home. The Corona del Mar home of designer Sue White is spectacular. She was inspired not by the house itself, but by a razor-clam shell and a piece of driftwood. Her inspiration is definitely visible, but the home is so much more. The fusion of textures and styles is masterful, sleek and modern meets Euro country.

chic & thrifty: oak bench with velvet seat

Four Hands oak-and-velvet bench $738
Restoration Hardware Louis Bench with velvet seat $355

Weathered Oak has quickly become a favorite of mine with it's fabulous warm grey, the best neutral, tones. It works beautifully with different interior styles; it can be Beachy Casual or French Elegant, and when paired with velvet, it is all out glam.

food: easy cannellini bean dip

I was invited to the neighbors last evening for an impromptu get together. A get together that included wine, good conversation and tasty nibbles. My contribution was an easy and delish Cannellini Bean Dip accompanied perfectly by Stacy's, Italian Harvest, Pita Chips.

Cannellini Bean Dip

14 oz. can Cannellini beans

Clove of garlic, smashed

Juice of half a lemon

1/4 C of extra virgin olive oil

1 T fresh basil, mince

Drain and rinse the beans. Combine beans, garlic and lemon juice in food processor, blend. Gradually add olive oil until well blended. Season with S & P and top with fresh basil.

Enjoy!

style board: holly golightly's apt., 2011

I must admit, I had not planned on re-styling Holly Golightly's apartment this week, but when I saw the wood Butcher Shop Bull from Wisteria, I could not stop thinking about Miss Golightly's sparse, but oh so stylish pad.
The 2011 apt. is better suited for Holly's fabulous and ever so lively parties. The sofa has a similar shape to her original "bathtub", just a little more practical. The other pieces are inspired by Miss Golightly's wardrobe; Tiffany Blue sleep mask, orange robe, lovely bling and numerous LBD's.

interiors: la renovation d'un moulin

I find that when the seasons start to transition, my interior cravings start to fancy a certain level of comfort. And with Fall upon us, I long for ultra comfort. While my Bohemian spirit is still present, a blend of textures; cotton, velvet, wood and crystal, and styles; cotton slipcovered sofa and velvet tufted accent chairs living harmoniously with a time worn coffee table with so much character it could have it's own sitcom...keep it clean, keep it simple, keep it cozy and always keep it Boho Glam.

interiors: a pretty and stylish condo, adore home aug/sept

The athlete housing from the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver was revamped into two bedroom condos. This model condo was created by designer Peter Wilds and featured in Adore Magazine online. A great mix of glam, laid back texture and interesting elements; so digging the octopus!

The overall white palette is so fresh and the bright pastels so refreshing. While the black/white injections throughout the home add just the right touch of sophistication.
