This weeks interior, is the home of Perry and Laura Vinroot Poole, he is an architect and she is the owner of a fashion-forward boutique... and I love, love, love their renovated 1959 ultramodern home! With the help of interior designer Barrie Benson, the decor is a marvelous blend, well a blend of delicious worldly goodness; Chinese sofa, Moroccan rugs, French 40's, and clean-lined Scandinavian pieces all playing stunningly well with the mod glam pieces.

The fabulousness of this home speaks for itself, and this closet, hello?! It is my dream space.

I decided to tackle Phlox today from the Pantone Fashion Color Report Fall 2011. I wanted to get it over with since purple's are my least favorite colors, but I managed to get through it...

a little boho and a little glam. All the while remaining simple with warmth and texture.

This week's stunner is an old building in San Antonio that once housed a seed co., it has since been transformed into a spectacular home...




with a mix of styles, funky mod interspersed with dainty antiques and an amazing collection of art, this home has character, lots of character.



The texture of the walls and floors; plaster, aged wood, concrete and tiles, combined with the luxe velvet, love, love, love!




If I had to label the style, I would have to go with Paris Industrial.

friday musings: the weekend

I am looking forward to spending Saturday with my fabulous friend Lu, it's been three weeks since we last spent some quality girly time together and we have much to catch up on! photo: Etsy DigitalDivas

We will be spending the first half of the day at Denver Pet Expo providing valuable information on all the fabulous horses up for adoption at the Colorado Horse Rescue. Then the rest of the afternoon we will be at CHR attending the Open House and volunteer BBQ.

Then, well, who knows, it is still Summer in Rockies...

food for thought: sorry erika, coconut pineapple ice cream ;)

It's been a slow week in the kitchen, as far as "new" dinner creations go; delicious Tuscan BBQ Ribs last weekend, Mediterranean Tuna, spaghetti at the neighbors...and Dryers Coconut Pineapple Ice Cream! An oh so tasty and creamy vanilla ice cream with chunks of pineapple and flakes of coconut, a veritable textural party in your mouth! But hurry, it is a limited edition jewel.

With shades of white and ocean blues, this cottage is fresh and peaceful...





then throw in the warm neutral tones and textures and it becomes downright cozy!

food for thought: they're baaaaack, coconut m&m's

2 years ago, a friend of mine let me in on a not so well known secret, limited edition Coconut M&M's... I have been hoarding 2 bags in my fridge, breaking them out only on special occasions. Well, special occasions and perhaps special favors ;) I am happy to say they are back and apparently to stay. I have yet to see a commercial for them, but at least the scary LIMITED EDITION phrase is not printed on the package.

I was hoping to get some pool time in today, but bleep happens... so instead, I will lose myself in this gorgeous Queensland's Sunshine Coast beach house. This home is a stylish balance of laid back contemporary with an injection of old world rustic and a kiss of mod glam.

Limestone, my all-time favorite, is everywhere in this home, inside and out.

The sleek, open kitchen overlooks the living area, perfect for entertaining.

Did I mention entertaining? Look at this pool!

I have a serious fondness for neon, so loving this custom installation.

It may be Queensland, but this home with the clean white contemporary facade, and interior, combined with the warmth of reclaimed wood, this home (to me anyway) has a lovely laid back Mediterranean feel to it.
