I'm hanging with Mom & Pop this week while PaPa has his chemo treatment. He has lost about 16 lbs. since his leukemia diagnosis in August, so I come home during his chemo weeks to help out and man the kitchen trying to put some meat on his bones and a little junk in his trunk. This week he has had lasagna, Caesar salad and tonight, a broccoli cheddar soup and yummy baguette from Sundown Bakery in Bayfield, fantastic crust with a delicious soft and airy middle.
The soup recipe is from Food Network, Almost-Famous Broccoli-Cheddar, super delicious and easy to make. I tweaked it a bit; 4 C of broth, 1 C of half n' half, and a splash of sherry.
