creative cocktails: margarita spritzer

Even though the current Spring weather is rainy, no wait snowy, no...well, let's just say it's Springtime in the Rockies... I am hoping to grill some fish this weekend for tacos. And nothing goes better with fish tacos (well lots of things go with fish tacos, but let's just stick with today's cocktail) than a Margarita Spritzer.

This recipe hails back from Gourmet, May 1985! I didn't find it until 1999 on Epicurious.com, but thankfully I printed it off and saved it since it is no longer available.

Margarita Spritzer

  • 1 1/2 oz. tequila

  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice

  • 1 oz. triple sec or orange liquour of your choice

  • Chilled seltzer or club soda

  • Lime for garnish

I make mine in a 16 oz. or larger glass filled with ice. Add ingredients and stir with a swizzle stick.

Enjoy!

    2. Lissa it is and very, very refreshing! There's a serious chill in the air this morning, but I want fish tacos too...isn't that what grilling jackets are for? ;)
