creative cocktails: warm and cozy

I hit the the town last night as a belated birthday get together with a dear friend. We went to Trios Enoteca in LoDo. We enjoyed a couple glasses of wine {I had the Tarima Monastrell, quite lovely} and shared their oh so tasty Seafood Pizza, so delish. I asked the fabulous Tasha what their best Winter Cocktails were, and she shared a couple with me... The first is the Apple a Day, "Like a Hot Toddy that you will love even when you're not sick!" It is made with Leopold Bros New York Apple Flavored Whiskey; 1 n half to 2 oz., with Orange & Spice Tea, Fresh Lemon Juice, Honey and a cinnamon stick. Not only does this sound amazing, but I am loving the style of the whiskey bottle! The next drink was created by Tasha, it's called the Warm Me Up. It is made with Leopold Bros. Three Pins Herbal Liquor, which is exactly what it is; alpine herbs blended with ginkgo biloba, echinacia, coriander and orange zest. The Warm Me Up; 1 n half to 2 oz. of Three Pins Herbal Liquor, Spiced Hot Apple Cider and Clove Studded Orange Peel. Wow, a must try this Winter!

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Leopold Bros. is a family owned small batch distillery in our very own city of Denver, CO. Pretty awesome.
