tuesday's treasure: fresh modern country style

The first day of March here in Colorado is freaking gorgeous. The sun is out, temps in the mid 60's and only a slight breeze blowing. The official start of Spring is 20 days away, and March is generally our snowiest month. But today, my thoughts are bright and happy, a reflection of today's home. A small (929 sq. ft.) carriage house from Country Home, April 2008. The home may be small, but it is big on style...how could you not be happy in this living area? The green is so inviting and comfortable! The blend of country (slip covered sofas and hutch) with contemporary (the fabulous nail head cubes) is pure perfection.

This gallery wall along with the well accessorized sideboard, is, well, in a word, fantastic.

A simple and sweet dining nook. So loving the linen window covering.

Phenomenal workspace. The shutter idea board, I want one!
The use of color throughout this home is just right, not too much, not too little, the home is still "white", which brings me to the painted wall boards. I, along with many others, steer clear of paneling, but these walls make me think twice, especially when painted Tiffany blue with a white leafy vine stencil, love, love, love!

In keeping with the mirror trick of expanding a space, these old mirrored French doors do the trick perfectly.

A beautiful blend of polished meets rustic as seen in the bath. This home has so many charming, yet stylish qualities. Re-confirming my thought that bigger isn't always better.
